When I was young, I could only watch Robotech,
Oh Carl Macek, it was pathetic, it made me sick
And all the kids in Japan, they'd be watching so happily,
Joyfully, not listening to Wendee Lee

But someone sent me some tapes, told me all about "fan subbing"
Not bad dubbing, oh English actors always flubbing 
And then they showed me a world, made of anime and manga,
Ken'ichi Sonoda, Akira, Ah! Megami-sama!

     But in stores on every shelf inside
     The prices run too high
     For such a poor student
     Won't you please send fansubs off to me
     I know I sound too cheap
     But I can't afford to rent

Now watch what you want, even if they call you an "Otaku",
Deride you, make fun of you, or tease you
"Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to see you at the festival,"
The student's call, "We're holding it in the convention hall!"
